Arvada Activity Recommendations

Any Season

  • Visit Olde Town Arvada. Head to Olde Town for a “downtown” feel without leaving the suburbs. Many of the streets in Olde Town are pedestrian only making the area very easy to explore on foot. Check out Olde Town’s wide variety of shops, boutiques, galleries, events, restaurants, and breweries. 10 min drive from the property.
  • Visit Meow Wolf Denver. Meow Wolf Denver is a unique, experiential art installation. You are taken on an extraterrestrial journey to four alien worlds- C Street, Eemia, Numina, and Ossuary. Each world is a visual spectacle of fluorescent colors and comes with its own backstory. 30 min drive from the property.

    Summer

    • Kayak or Paddle Board on Standley Lake. Stanley Lake is nearby and offers excellent views of the mountains. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards right at the lake. Rentals are available on a first come-first served basis starting at 9 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 2 – Sept. 30. Rentals are $20-25 per hour. 10 min drive from the property.
    • Hike in the Flatirons. The Flatirons are the iconic rock formations that tower over Boulder, CO. Take a hike among the Flatirons and you’ll enjoy fantastic scenery as well as catching glimpses of rock climbers scaling the angled rock faces. 30 min drive from the property.
    • Hike at Brainard Lake. Brainard Lake is a very popular hiking destination in summer. And its popularity is well deserved. The area offers excellent alpine lake hiking. I recommend heading past Brainard Lake, along Long Lake, and up to Lake Isabelle. 1 hr 10 min drive from the property.

    Winter

    • Downhill or Cross-Country Ski at Eldora. Arvada is within day trip range of many popular Colorado ski resorts including Arapahoe Basin, Winter Park, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Vail. While these resorts offer fantastic skiing, the weekend traffic and crowds can sometimes spoil your day. To skip the crowds and traffic, head to Eldora Mountain instead. It is the closest ski resort to Arvada and avoids I-70 traffic entirely. Alpine skiing lift tickets range from $150-190. Cross-country skiing passes are $30-40. 1 hr drive from the property.
    • Snowshoe or Cross-Country Ski at Brainard Lake. Brainard Lake Recreation Area is a winter wonderland. A large network of winter trails gives you plenty of terrain to explore on cross country skis or snowshoes. Rent any gear you’ll need in town because there are no rental operators on site. 1 hr 10 min drive from the property.
